The Hostage and Missing Families Forum was formed by the families of the abductees less than 24 hours after the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7th, in which more than 1300 innocent civilians were murdered and hundreds were taken hostage. The Forum is volunteer-based and laser-focused on bringing the hostages back home to their families, to us. The forum offers families holistic medical and emotional support as well as professional assistance, and advances the ongoing efforts locally, regionally and globally, to bring the hostages and the missing back home. Counting thousands of volunteers and supporters, the Hostage and Missing Families Forum includes family members and friends of the hostages alongside top security, law, media and diplomacy experts who are donating their time to the cause. Donations are directed towards advancing all necessary efforts through diplomatic, medical and legal channels and towards raising public awareness to the hostage crisis by creating campaigns in Israel and abroad. Demanding the release of innocent hostages does not require bravery, it is not political either. Many of the hostages are children, women and the elderly. We invite you to support us at this difficult time and stand by the innocent civilians and their families in a clear demand to bring them home now.

Brothers for Life is created and run by injured IDF combat soldiers. We aim to give critical and immediate help to other injured IDF combat soldiers who put their lives on the line for the safety of Israel and the entire Jewish nation. The model of “injured soldiers helping other injured soldiers” has given us both the leverage and trust to help young Israelis who are suffering daily from their injuries. These are some of the most selfless and talented young men in the country and they are the future of the State of Israel. Many of them are officers from elite units and as they continue to improve, they will go on to be the diplomats, activists and entrepreneurs that Israel needs.

We at Simcha Layeled believe that for children with chronic illnesses or disabilities, the combination of personal interaction and social and emotional tools will facilitate the development into mature adults. And as these children develop they will also fully utilize their inherent personal potential, easing their integration into Israeli society and preparing them to contribute significantly to this society during their adulthood. On the one hand, the challenges and pressures of the diseases these children face on a daily basis undoubtedly have them living in a constant crisis situation. At the same time, however, their coping mechanisms present them an opportunity for growth- in resilience, in mental strength, and in the development and deepening of their personal abilities. And these personal achievments in the face of routine treatments are continually tested by the selfsame routine. The ever-present disease often constitutes a barrier between the child's inherent abilities and their implementation. We at Simcha Layeled accompany the child and their family during their daily routine. We aid them in their effort to grow, to evolve and take their proper places within their age groups. And we assist in identifying the strengths and abilities of each individual child, supporting and encouraging them throughout their journey of integration into Israeli adult society. Our goal for ourselves as an organization is to improve the life quality of children and adolescents suffering from disease. We aim to maximize the positive qualities of the children in a warm and enabling environment of peers sharing their life experience. Overall this creates valuable moments of joy, happiness and respite from the daily struggle of disease. In short, it turns pain into smiles. We are able to fulfill all these goals thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who exert themselves with endless dedication for the children and their families, through various projects and mentoring programs.

In the wake of the recent brutal Hamas attack, we have launched the ISEME project to acquire and supply life-saving, cutting-edge essential medical equipment to emergency medical teams in dire need. While our hospitals boast advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, our field-level medical teams lack access to such critical resources. They urgently require point-of-care medical devices to effectively perform rapid triage and manage multiple casualties. Our team prepares the equipment to fit the terrain by assembling specific kits that match the equipment, which is then stored in sealed cases suitable for the field. Examples of our specialized kits include the Butterfly Point Of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Kit, which includes a versatile POCUS transducer, a rugged Mini iPad, chargers, and medical gel, all protected in a robust Pelican Case. Additionally, our Video Laryngoscope – McGRATH MAC Kit provides quick and efficient patient intubation with its integrated camera, two long-lasting batteries, and protective hard cover for reliable performance in challenging conditions.

Founded in 1995, ZAKA is Israel’s dominant non-governmental rescue and recovery organization, with over 3,000 volunteers deployed around the country, on call 24/7 to respond to any terror attack, disaster or accident immediately, professionally and with the necessary equipment. ZAKA, a civilian volunteer organization with sole responsibility in Israel for dealing with incidents of unnatural death, works in close cooperation with all the emergency services and security forces. Honoring the dead is considered an act of Chesed Shel Emes (true virtue). In Judaism, this is considered the greatest mitzva (good deed) that can be performed, because the recipient has no way of repaying the kindness. ZAKA (the Hebrew acronym for Disaster Victim Identification) became an official volunteer organization in 1995 and has grown organically over the last two decades, finding the best solutions to the operational needs as the scope of the volunteering work increases. ZAKA today offers professional and highly-skilled volunteer services in the areas of emergency response, search and rescue, accident prevention and assistance in international disasters. Specialist search and rescue units have been established over the years including, among others, a Motorcycle unit, K9 unit, Jeep unit, ATV unit, Jet-ski unit and Divers unit. In all cases, these units consist of highly trained volunteers, each a specialist in their own field, bringing their skills and dedication to the organization and ensuring the fastest and most professional response to the situation. In Israel, ZAKA has become part of the consensus, regularly ranked the most esteemed and respected organization after the IDF. ZAKA offers a framework for thousands of ultra-Orthodox (haredi) volunteers, who do not typically serve in the military, to contribute to society in a meaningful way, providing an essential service within the most professional and disciplined framework. ZAKA has also created a bridge between the various sectors in Israeli society, with the values of volunteerism and dedication as the connecting forces. ZAKA volunteers include among their ranks Jews, Christians, Druze, Bedouin and Moslem; young and old; men and women; religious and secular. ZAKA provides assistance to all, regardless of religion, race or creed – because man is made in the divine image. In addition to these units, ZAKA has established the ZAKA International Rescue Unit, with hundreds of volunteers in Israel and around the world, who are ready, equipped and able to respond in the fastest time to a mass casualty incident or terror attack, wherever it occurs. In 2005, ZAKA received United Nations recognition as an international humanitarian volunteer organization. ZAKA has since become a model for emergency services around the world, sharing best practices and serving as a light unto the nations in the darkest of times.

United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer emergency medical service (EMS) organization that provides the fastest emergency medical service throughout Israel, and we do it completely free of charge. Our goal is to provide immediate lifesaving medical intervention during the critical window between the onset of an emergency and the arrival of traditional ambulance assistance. United Hatzalah’s services are available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. We have a network of more than 7,000 volunteers across the country, available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – who respond to more than 2,000 emergencies each day. With the help of our innovative GPS-based technology and our iconic ambucycles, we have cut down emergency medical response time in Israel to less than 3 minutes, and in many metropolitan areas, less than 90 seconds. Our volunteers consist of ordinary citizens who have received full training and become certified first responders, enabling them to administer lifesaving treatment to anyone suffering a medical emergency in their vicinity, including but not limited to their co-workers, neighbors, family members, and also total strangers. When an emergency occurs, every second matters and our selfless volunteers drop whatever they are doing and respond to the emergency in an effort to save lives.
